Romantic overnight tour to Koh Paluay, Angthong marine park

Koh Paluay is one of the most beautiful and lost islands of the marine national park. It is absolutely environmentally friendly - there is not even electricity, and the local population uses the energy of the sun using solar panels. Electricity is available from 06.30 am to 06.30 pm. Works mobile Internet. It consists of two parts: the northern part is the territory of the national park.
South - inhabited, consisting of three villages (marked on the map as Village 1, 2, 3). About 200 families live here (about five hundred people). The main occupation of local residents is fishing. There are 2 piers on the island: the south, where regular ships arrive from Donsak on even days (village 2) and the west, where regular ships arrive from Donsak on odd days (village 3). The island has two large tourist restaurants: "Number One" in the south and "Paluay Seafood" on the west coast. Also, on the island there is a school, police station, point of care, shop.

We offer you accommodation in the three best resorts to choose from:
Eco Camping, Eco Resort and Angthong Beach Resort.

You can get to the island either on a regular boat from Donsak (the most budget option). Departure daily at 13.00 from Donsak, near the market. Please note that for even and odd days there are different piers located close to each other. Return flight from the island at 7 am. One-way ticket for a foreigner is 200 Baht. Or by speedboat from Koh Samui. You will have a full day tour of the national park, at the end of which will be the last stop on about 1.5 hours at Koh Paluay for lunch, rest and kayaking.

The transfer will take you to the resort after lunch and the next (or next days) will deliver to the place of departure of the speedboat for the return transfer (approximately at 15.00) or, if desired, for lunch at the restaurant "Number One" by 13.00
If after the tour to Angthong marine park you are not going to return to Koh Samui, you can book a one-way tour on a speedboat, and return on a regular boat to Donsak.

From 6.01.2015 to 7.01.2015 we were in Ang Thong National Park, a few tips for those who will go overnight: 1. Put on swimwear right away, take sunscreen and normal shoes (if you want to climb to heights, otherwise, you risk seriously injuring your feet. 2. I will tell you for those who do not understand English (the tour is adapted for Europeans), important points, there are only two islands, on the first one they will put you directly from the ship on a kayak (a small plastic boat for 2 or 3 people), before that they will divide you into groups, it is better to get into the first group, because if there is sun, then the first group floats while it is not very hot, in the second group, without 50% sunscreen you will simply burn in a matter of minutes. If they want to include you in the second group, ask to include you in the first, they have more boats than those who want, also if you want If you're planning on kayaking, it's best to pay directly through the agency, as you can only pay on the spot based on the remaining balance if there are still boats available. 3. Upon arrival at the second island, you'll be offered a climb up the mountain. If you're wearing flip-flops or other slippery shoes, don't bother. Or climb 100 meters, where you can take good photos. 200 meters is a bit better. 300 meters is the same as 200 meters. We didn't go any higher, as it gets dark early on the island, and the descent is more difficult than the ascent. 4. Regarding overnight accommodations, please bring your own soap, toothpaste, and mosquito repellent. The bungalows don't have any of these items, and they won't provide any. The food is delicious, and the fish is a matter of luck. Our boat arrived empty and there was no fish, but the pork or chicken was delicious. You can rent a kayak for a while. The price at the hotel reception apparently varies depending on the employee, but they offered us 700. The locals had 300 baht on the beach. 5. If the sun isn't shining, head to the tables to the left of the beach bar, near the cliff. Around noon, a troop of monkeys might appear there. If you see even one, run to the bar downstairs and buy bananas or watermelon. Offer them to the monkeys. You might get unforgettable photos and interact with wild monkeys. 6. I'd like to add that it's best to stay for two or more nights; we didn't have time to see the cave and the kayaking park. I want to express my deep gratitude to Anna and Koh Sanuk for organizing such a wonderful trip.

We found ourselves in a fairy tale! I just want to tell everyone! Just look at the family of monkeys on the antenna! There's a connection, but the speed is only good for texting. It's impossible to charge anything here: the power grid is terrible, all the lights flicker. Returning to Koh Samui, you find yourself in another world. Civilization, so to speak. My son told me he wants to go there for 2-3 months after we spent the whole day kayaking between the islands yesterday. I really didn't want to leave either. We saw a European there who's been sitting in his tent for a month and says he's already been to ten parks in Thailand. As for the bungalow, at first we shared a 6-bed bungalow with two people. The first floor has two bathrooms and a hall, and the second floor has two bedrooms. The bathrooms there are too cramped and there was almost no electricity (they later fixed it). But then I liked the 2-bed bungalow: compact and almost clean. Almost - because there are cracks all the way through the walls near the windows in some places, and they didn't give me toilet paper. When they gave it to me and I tried to put it back, hordes of ants crawled out, so I had to run for help with some dichlorvos. But all this is nothing compared to nature. It's magnificent, and I really want to go there for a week or two now. But first, I need at least 5-7 days of acclimatization. The tour itself, of course, is a bit formal: run here, run there, and then it's time to go back. We did snorkel, but it's still hard to compare with Koh Tao. They transported us between the islands, but very quickly. Kayaking around the island opposite the camp (by the way, we later saw wild pigs there). We climbed to the observation deck the next day, while no one was there, and went to the cave today (it wasn't impressive, by the way). The electricity in the second bungalow was fine, and all my devices were charged. When it was time to head back, they wouldn't let us pass. We descended from the cave at one o'clock in the afternoon, and a guide from the boat caught us right away. Everything there felt so homey; everyone quickly taught us everything and was ready to help. Thank you, Koh Sanuk, for a wonderful trip! I highly recommend it to all adventure lovers.
