Overview
King 5 is a sailing catamaran based near Koh Samui. It is the largest and most modern of the three King catamarans in the area and takes up to 18 guests. Its home waters are the sheltered stretches around Koh Tan and Koh Madsum, two small islands south of Samui. Koh Tan is known for its shallow coral reef, which suits first-time snorkellers. Koh Madsum is a white-sand beach, known as Pig Island for the pigs that wander along the shore. Wide trampoline and deck areas give you room to sunbathe, lounge or watch the coastline slip past under sail.
On the water
The stops are built around the sea. Anchor in a quiet bay to swim or snorkel over the reef, then try a stand-up paddleboard or drift on a floating device. Fishing rods are on board for guests who want to fish. By day you can troll while the boat is under way, and in the evening you can try squid fishing once the light fades. The crew helps with equipment and keeps an eye on everyone in the water.
Day trips and overnight stays
The standard programme is a relaxed half-day sail with a swim and snorkel stop, time for paddleboarding or light fishing, and a slow cruise along the coast. Soft drinks, water, seasonal fruit and snacks are served on board. King 5 also has cabins, so it can be chartered for an overnight stay. Guests who stay on board can watch the sun set and rise from a bay far from the crowds.
Food on board
Lunch, transfers and the Koh Madsum entrance fee are not part of the standard price. For a meal at sea, two BBQ set menus are offered, built around grilled seafood and meats with fried rice and dipping sauces. Please confirm availability and arrangements at booking.

Overview
This shorter private sail on King 5 fits in both of the area's favourite island stops. In about four hours you snorkel the reef at Koh Tan, step ashore on Koh Madsum (Pig Island) to meet the pigs that roam the beach, and cruise back along the coast on a roomy sailing catamaran that takes up to 18 guests.
The morning departure is the usual choice, as the sea tends to be calmer and the light is good for snorkelling. An afternoon departure is also possible, with the same programme shifted later in the day. At anchor, the crew sets up the paddleboards and floating devices, so you can alternate between swimming, snorkelling and lying on the trampoline. If anyone wants to fish, a trolling line can be put out while the boat is under way.
Soft drinks, water, seasonal fruit and snacks are served on board, so the trip works well without a full lunch. If you would like a proper meal, the two BBQ set menus can be arranged at booking, or you can plan lunch ashore after you return.
Good to know
- Private charter for your group only.
- Departure times can be moved to suit the tide and weather, and an afternoon start is available on request.

Overview
Spend a full day under sail on King 5, the largest and most modern of the King catamarans near Koh Samui. The boat is yours alone (private charter, up to 18 guests), and there is time to see both of the area's best-known stops without hurrying. These are the coral reef at Koh Tan and the white-sand beach of Koh Madsum, known as Pig Island for the pigs that wander along the shore.
The day follows a relaxed rhythm. Anchor off Koh Tan in the morning, when the water is usually calmest, and snorkel over the reef with the equipment provided. Then move on to Koh Madsum to walk the beach and meet the pigs. Between the two islands there is plenty of time on the water. Try a stand-up paddleboard, float on a lounger, or put a line out and troll while the catamaran is under sail. The wide trampoline and deck areas are ideal for sunbathing between swims.
A midday break at anchor gives you time to eat on board. Lunch is not part of the standard package, but two BBQ set menus built around grilled seafood and meats with fried rice and dipping sauces can be arranged when you book. A second swim and a slow, scenic sail along the coast bring you back to the marina in the late afternoon.
Good to know
- Private charter: the itinerary can be adjusted to the group, the weather and the sea conditions.
- Extra hours can be added if you want a longer day, subject to availability.

Overview
Take King 5 beyond the usual Samui stops and spend a full day sailing across to Koh Phangan, the neighbouring island. This is a private charter for your group only (up to 18 guests), so the pace, the swim stops and the lunch break are set around you rather than a shared timetable.
After leaving the marina in the morning, the catamaran heads north-east under sail whenever the wind allows. The crossing is part of the experience. The wide trampoline and shaded deck are ideal for sunbathing, and you can put a trolling line out while the boat is moving. Once you reach Koh Phangan, the crew chooses a calm, sheltered bay to suit the weather and sea conditions of the day and anchors there. You can snorkel over the nearby reef with the equipment provided, try a stand-up paddleboard or float on a lounger. The crew keeps watch over the water and helps beginners.
A relaxed lunch break at anchor follows. Lunch is not part of the standard package, but two BBQ set menus with grilled seafood or meats, fried rice and dipping sauces can be arranged when you book. After lunch there is time for a second swim before the slow, scenic sail back to Samui, with soft drinks, water, seasonal fruit and snacks on deck.
Good to know
- Private charter: the route, stops and timings can be adjusted to your group, the wind and the sea state.
- Sailing time to Koh Phangan depends on the wind, so exact arrival times may vary.
- Extra hours can be added for a longer day, subject to availability. A pickup at Koh Phangan can also be arranged.

Overview
This short late-afternoon private sail on King 5 fits Koh Tan, Pig Island and a sunset view into about two and a half hours. You leave the marina at 16:00, when the day's heat is easing. There is time for a swim and snorkel over the reef at Koh Tan and a stop on Koh Madsum to meet the pigs before the light turns golden.
As the sun gets low, the catamaran sails slowly along the coast and the crew finds a good spot to watch it go down. The wide trampoline and deck are ideal for this. Stretch out with a cold drink, or float behind the boat as the sky changes colour. Paddleboards and floating devices are available at anchor, and the crew can set a line out for anyone who wants to fish.
The trip ends at the marina at about 18:30, shortly after sunset. Soft drinks, water, seasonal fruit and snacks are included. Dinner is not part of the package, but the two BBQ set menus can be arranged at booking if you want to eat on board.

- The trip lasts about 2.5 hours, so the stops are shorter than on the half-day and full-day sails.
