Overview
Most visitors reach Koh Nang Yuan on a day trip and leave by mid-afternoon. This tour lets you stay on after the day boats have gone. You spend the day on the water, then settle into your chosen accommodation and have the island's beaches, trails and viewpoint almost to yourselves until the next afternoon.
The Day Out: Koh Tao and Koh Nang Yuan
You leave Koh Samui by speedboat with an English-speaking guide. The first stop is a morning snorkel in one of Koh Tao's bays, followed by lunch at a local restaurant on Koh Tao. In the early afternoon you continue to Koh Nang Yuan for more snorkeling in clear water over its reefs. Fins are not allowed here, as the island protects its reefs. After that you check in to your accommodation.
Choose Where You Sleep
Your stay is built around the accommodation you select. Options include standard rooms, family double rooms (Superior and Deluxe Family), villas and junior suites. Some sit right on the beach, others up in the hills with panoramic sea views. Hillside rooms have a shortcut path, so it is worth asking about it on arrival. Send us your preferred room type and we will confirm availability. Your island entrance fee is covered, and a light breakfast is included for each booked night.
An Island After Hours
The island is open to day visitors only from 10 AM to 3 PM, so the evening belongs to overnight guests. Sunsets are quiet, the beach is almost empty, and the early morning light is best for snorkeling or for the 15 to 20 minute hike to the viewpoint. From the top you can see all three islands joined by white sandbars and turquoise water. At that hour you can take it in without the queues that build up midday.
Eating, Diving and Island Rules
The island has a beachside bar serving Thai dishes, salads and drinks, and a pier cafe for coffee and baked goods. A restaurant for overnight guests only serves an international menu with breakfast, lunch and dinner. An on-island PADI dive centre offers fun dives, introductory dives from the beach and certification courses, all at extra cost.
To keep the island calm and the reefs healthy, guests are asked to use reef-safe sunscreen, avoid single-use plastic bottles, keep music low, and not fly drones or smoke on the beach.
Stay Longer
The next afternoon a speedboat takes you back to Koh Samui. If you would rather not leave, you can extend your stay for as many nights as you like.
