Sailing courses
The duration of yachting courses is from 5 to 7 days. Each course usually starts on Monday and ends on Friday or Saturday if at least 2 people have booked the course. We can shift the date due to the weather forecast and your wishes.
A group can be formed 2 months before the start of the course.
Before the training trip, we will stock up with all necessary supplies and fresh water! You will study the theory ashore and practice it immediately in the sea. All participants will keep an hourly watch throughout the trip. You will also have some duties in the galley, which even experienced sailors consider difficult. We will go fishing if the weather is fine.
For the nights we will stop at places with restaurants (Asian cuisine), and if you wish, you can spend the night on the beach at the hotel.
Available packages
This is an initial training course that allows you to take the first step in sailing yachting and includes both a large amount of theoretical material and 50 nautical miles with the crew of a sailing yacht.
You will learn:
- the vessel's parts of boat;
- the names and functions of yacht equipment, learn how to navigate a yacht, use water, electricity, toilet;
- sailing terminology, learn how to handle with sails;
- basic maneuvers of the yacht: tacking, gybing;
- elements of mooring and anchoring;
- elementary navigation principles, how to use a compass, get acquinted with the main sea nodes.
At the end of this course, you will be able to skilfully perform the skipper commands. This certificate does not give the right to charter a boat, but it influences the decision to let a boat to a skipper with certificate of higher level. When chartering a sailing yacht longer than 50 ft, the presence of a Qualified Team Member is mandatory.

Bareboat captain Group Tour
A one-week course that is available for persons with Competent Crew certificate and sailing experience not less than 50 nautical miles. The course includes Flotilla Skipper course. During the training you will sail 200-250 miles more. This certificate will allow you to charter a yacht less than 50 ft. and sail 20 nautical miles off the coast during daytime.
You will learn:
- navigation
- tides
- meteorology
- International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 (COLREGs)
- mooring and anchoring, Man Overboard (M.O.B.) training
- sailing safety instructions.
This course includes VHF Radio Operator course (rules of radio communication and International Phonetic Alphabet). VHF radio is required to be installed onboard any vessel to ensure safe cruising and communication between a vessel and the coast or other vessels. Currently a growing number of charter companies ask to present not only skipper license but radio operator license as well.
If you make up your mind to get VHF certificate after completion of this course, you will be able to buy it for additional 50 Euro.

Master of yacht coastal Group Tour
This course lasts 5-6 days and includes night sailing. Only certified Bareboat Captains with sailing not less than 800 nautical miles proved by a Logbook are allowed to take this course. This certificate is sufficient for most of charter companies situated in the areas where maritime infrastructure is not well-developed. It gives you the right to sail 50 nautical miles off the coast during day and night time.
You will learn:
- Basic principles of international maritime regulations by International Maritime Organization (IMO)
- Global Marine Distress and Safety System (GMDSS)
- International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGs)
- How to use of navigation electronic equipment, yacht’s autopilot
- Emergency situations training

Terms and conditions, cancellation policy
- Payment must be made within 3 days after reservation date and not later than 3 day(s) before tour date otherwise reservation expires;
- Koh Sanuk reserves the right to cancel or postpone a tour due to unforeseen circumstances (such as weather conditions). By agreement tour can be rescheduled to another day or company will make full refund;
- Service provider reserves the right to change the trip itinerary and/or destination if weather (wind, waves) does not allow to execute the trip itinerary;
- Client has the right to cancel a booking up to 3 day(s) prior to the tour date. Is this case Koh Sanuk will refund full payment minus bank fee;
- From 3 day(s) up to 1 day(s) before the tour date Koh Sanuk reserves the right charge up to 50% cancellation fee;
- In case of cancellation in 1 day(s) or less from the tour date/time or "No Show", Koh Sanuk will charge up to 100% invoice amount cancellation fee.
