Little secrets of Phangan
The tour takes the guest along the scenic coast road and down some little local streets. The landscape and the tropical forest are already a great experience. The air-conditioned vans, well maintained with comfortable seats for 9 guest, guarantee that this excursion is not a mass event. A stop to use a clean toilet is planned. Fresh water will always be available in the van.
Itinerary
- Transfer from the hotel. Coconut farm.Usually the earliest pick up time is around 08:00 am. You will visit local coconut farm where coconut oil is not produced. Here, the dense core of the coconut, which will turn into coal, is separated from the outer fibrous part, which will become a filler for furniture and eco-mattresses. Coconut fiber is also an excellent repellent. During a working day one person processes over a thousand coconuts in this way!
- Pier with fishing boats.Having a good fishing boat and keeping it in working condition is essential on an island. The fisherman mainly catch squid and fish. At night hundreds of green lights can be seen out at sea - these are fishing boats using lights to attract and catch squid.
- Monk at Samai Khong Kah.You will meet a friendly monk who has spent many years in Europe. He is very communicative and he will share insight into Buddhist culture. The small temple makes this a very personal experience. On the territory of the temple you will see unique sculptures that show punishments in Buddhist hell.
- Coconuts. You will visit the unique place - Haad Son beach and Koh Raham restaurant located on it - the realm of coconuts! Coconuts are hanging on fishing nets, trees, furniture. You can swim with a mask, as there are quite a lot of fish that are visible from the pier, refresh yourself with the freshest coconut and take unusual photos from the “Coconut Kingdom”.
- Bee hives and honey. It is more than just one look behind the scene of a old local house. In the garden of Mr.Nab, the chickens are running around and exotic fruits are growing. Taste the local honey - the color and flavor depends on the nectar source visited by the bees.
- Thai cafe.Fresh food tastes the best! With a few ingredients Mrs. Paew will cook in a little hut a very tasty chicken and vegetarian snacks.
- Thai Market. The street of Thongsala is a nice place for a walk and to see where locals buy everything they need. This was the first market on the island.
